February is the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign to fight heart disease in women. Measured To Fit is partnering with the AHA in also making this our mission, but we need your help.
We’re sure that many if not all of you know of a woman who has been affected by this disease. Women are nurturers and we take care of everyone else except ourselves. Let’s help the research and development to discover ways to stop this deadly disease in women. Please make a donation in February through Measured To Fit to the American Heart Association and we will match it $ for $ (cash or check only). We want to make a difference not only one bra at a time, but one heart at a time. Can we count on you? Please contact us or come to the store with your donation.
We are busting at the seams and need to make room for spring styles. Take advantage of our plight February 15-29 and get 20% off in-store items (accessories not included). Call or email for styles in your size.
Many have asked in our four year existance about where to donate their gently used bras since discovering their true fit and/or losing weight. We've researched and found two organizations worthy of your treasures.
One is USACF (United States Africa Childrens Fellowship) which mainly focuses on tangible donations for children. However, recently one of the volunteers was approached by some of the women in the village and told that they have a very hard time getting bras. What we take for granted (being able to buy a bra) isn't possible for these women and receiving bras would mean so much to them.
The Bra Recyclers http://brarecycling.com/index.shtml is our second resource:
-- They are a textile recycling company focused on doing their part to recycle and reuse bras (textiles) that unnecessarily go to landfills
-- They buy and sell recycled bras, which are re-distributed through exporters and organizations to developing countries around the world
-- They have created and support a network of Bra Recycling Ambassadors who assist in providing deserving women with used or unused bras as they transition back to self-sufficiency
Bras must be clean and in good shape. We are happy to add this to our continued service of helping women.
